Consumer Loans for Expats in the Netherlands

If you are an expat living in the Netherlands and need a consumer loan for a specific purpose, such as a car, home renovation, or study, we can help. We specialize in providing expert loan advice and brokering services to expats in the Netherlands. In this article, we will discuss the types of loans we offer, their conditions, and the factors that determine whether you qualify for a loan.

Our Services

As an intermediary between professional lenders and expats, we always put the customer’s interests first. Our primary objective is to find the best possible loan conditions for our clients. We will handle all aspects of the process, from advising you on the most suitable type of loan for your needs to obtaining quotes from various lenders and presenting you with the best options.

Types of Loans

We offer two types of loans: personal loans and “Flex and Zeker” loans. Personal loans have a fixed interest rate, fixed term, and fixed monthly payments. “Flex and Zeker” loans offer more flexibility, offering the possibility to make withdrawals from the loan up to the agreed credit limit during the first 24 months of the loan. The interest rate on these loans is fixed as well. The duration is variable, but is maximized at 120 months.

Loan Conditions

The amount you can borrow ranges from a minimum of 5,000 to a maximum of 75,000 euros. The loan term depends on the type of loan you choose and ranges from 12 to 120 months. The interest rate for personal loans is typically higher than that for Flex and Zeker loans. However, personal loans have the advantage of fixed terms, so you always know exactly what you’re paying.

Qualifying for a Loan

Several factors determine whether you qualify for a loan as an expat in the Netherlands. These include the country you come from, the nature of your residency status, whether you own a home, how long you have been living and working in the Netherlands, and whether you have any previous credit facilities in the Netherlands. Lenders will review your credit history through the Bureau Krediet Registratie (BKR) in Tiel to determine your eligibility for a loan.
